Surgical Weight Loss

If you struggle to lose weight, you don’t have to walk the journey alone. Many of our patients have tried for years to get rid of extra weight with little to no success. We understand what you’re going through and we are proud to offer many different types of sugerical weight loss options.

Duodenal Switch

A smaller, tubular stomach pouch is created by removing a portion of the stomach, very similar to the sleeve gastrectomy. Next, a large portion of the small intestine is bypassed.

Gastric Bypass

A small stomach pouch is created by dividing the top of the stomach from the rest of the stomach. Next, the first portion of the small intestine is divided, and the bottom end of the divided small intestine is brought up and connected to the newly created small stomach pouch.

Gastric Sleeve

The Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy – often called the sleeve – is performed by removing approximately 80 percent of the stomach.

Intragastric Balloon

A saline-filled silicone balloon is placed in your stomach, which helps you lose weight by limiting how much you can eat.

Why surgical weight loss?

Bariatric surgical procedures cause weight loss by restricting the amount of food the stomach can hold, causing malabsorption of nutrients, or by a combination of both gastric restriction and malabsorption. Bariatric procedures also often cause hormonal changes. Most weight loss surgeries today are performed using minimally invasive techniques (laparoscopic surgery).
