Stewart Elvis Rendon, MD, FACS, QME

Bariatric & General Surgeon

We are pleased to introduce Stewart Elvis Rendon, MD, FACS, QME, MBA, fellowship-trained bariatric surgeon and board-certified general surgeon.

Dr. Rendon brings the latest in state-of-the-art surgical skills and minimally invasive techniques, as well as his passion for helping to change people’s lives. As a fellowship-trained bariatric surgeon, he specializes in advanced bariatric procedures, including laparoscopic/open Roux-en-Y gastric bypass and laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy and revisional surgery (for complications), particularly band removal and band conversion to sleeve gastrectomy or gastric bypass. He also has a wide range of general surgeries, including anti-reflux, laparoscopic gall bladder, appendix, hernia and colon surgery.

“I absolutely love working with bariatric patients because I can help them achieve life-changing results,” says Dr. Rendon. “I like to see them feel better and start to do things they never thought they would be able to do again.” His patient’s describe him as being open, honest, and straight-forward.

Dr. Rendon earned a Bachelor of Science in an Advanced Program in Bio-Medical Sciences from the University of California, Riverside, in Riverside, California. He earned a Doctor of Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles, School of Medicine in Los Angeles, California. After finishing a five-year general surgery residency, he completed a bariatric/laparoscopic surgery fellow at Brody School of Medicine, East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina. Most recently, he also completed a Master of Business Administration at UCLA Anderson School of Management in Los Angeles, California. In addition, Dr. Rendon has served in the United States Air Force since 2011.

Dr. Rendon enjoys providing medical care to underserved populations and has performed a half-dozen humanitarian missions. When he is not practicing medicine, he enjoys flying helicopters (and holds an FAA private rotorcraft pilot license), scuba diving (deep sea, reef), spear fishing and shark hunting, white water rafting, archery, skiing, hiking, dancing (salsa, merengue, cumbia), playing soccer, and working on antique cars.

Ryan Killpack

We are pleased to introduce Ryan Killpack, PA-C, certified physician assistant.

As part of a dynamic healthcare team, Ryan is involved in all aspects of patient care. He contributes to his patients’ healthcare by providing them with as much education as possible, allowing them to be a part of the decision-making process. He has clinical experience in emergency medicine, general surgery, family medicine, women’s health, orthopedics, cardiology, and pediatrics. From time to time, he is a surgical first assist in the operating room.

Born and raised in Firth, Idaho, Ryan learned the value of hard work early in life from working at his family’s trucking company. Ryan graduated from Firth High School. He then when on to obtain a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Brigham Young University-Idaho in Rexburg, Idaho. Most recently, he traveled to West Virginia where he earned his Master of Science in Physician Assistant studies from West Liberty University.

Aside from medicine, Ryan’s other interests include spending time with his family and being outdoors. He also enjoys camping, riding horses, motorbikes, and pretty much any other activity that requires being outside.

We are pleased to introduce Bryan W. Johnson, PA-C, bariatric physician assistant. He works closely with Dr. Stewart Elvis Rendón, fellowship-trained bariatric surgeon and board-certified general surgeon, at Bingham Healthcare’s Empower Weight-Loss Program.

With nearly 15 years of medical experience, Bryan works with bariatric patients struggling with obesity and is involved in all aspects of patient care. He teaches preoperative patient education classes, evaluates patients prior to surgery, plans short- and long-term patient care, assists Dr. Rendón during bariatric surgery procedures, and carries out postoperative patient follow-up visits. He is instrumental in coordinating with our dieticians, mental health professionals, nurses, physicians, and insurance authorization experts to ensure the success of his patient’s healthcare plans and weight-loss goals. And, he is dedicated to providing compassionate, team-oriented, and comprehensive medical care to patients and their families.

Bryan earned his Bachelor of Science and Masters of Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Nebraska/Interservice Physician Assistant Program. He also holds a Certificate of Completion: General Surgery Fellowship from the San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium. Most notably, he has received numerous awards during his 20-year service in the United States Air Force around the world.

When Bryan is not practicing medicine, he enjoys fitness activities, skiing, being in the outdoors, and traveling with his family.

Family Medicine & Weight Loss

We are pleased to introduce Alyssa Jack, physician assistant-certified (PA-C), who works at all of our urgent cares located throughout Eastern Idaho. In addition, she works closely with Dr. Stewart Elvis Rendón, fellowship-trained bariatric surgeon and board-certified general surgeon, at Bingham Healthcare’s Empower Weight-Loss Program.

Alyssa assesses patients of all ages by performing a comprehensive history, physical examination, and appropriate diagnostic testing. She formulates plans to manage a patient’s condition medically and serves as a health information resource through interactions with patients and their families.

Specifically, she treats patients with acute illnesses including fever, dehydration, influenza, asthma exacerbation, pneumonia, accidental ingestion, appendicitis, bowel obstructions, gastroenteritis, serious bug bites, burns, abscesses, and other viral illnesses. She also treats patients with head injuries, lacerations, sprains, fractures, and dislocations.

As part of a dynamic weight-loss team, Alyssa is involved in all aspects of patient care. She works with bariatric patients struggling with obesity and is involved in all aspects of patient care. She teaches preoperative patient education classes, evaluates patients prior to surgery, plans short- and long-term patient care, assists Dr. Rendón during bariatric surgery procedures, and carries out postoperative patient follow-up visits. She is instrumental in coordinating with our dieticians, mental health professionals, nurses, physicians, and insurance authorization experts to ensure the success of his patient’s healthcare plans and weight-loss goals.

She is extremely skilled at listening to the needs of her patients to determine how to best meet their needs and treat their unique situation. She is experienced at performing various procedures, assisting with surgeries, interpreting lab images, and documenting information into patient charts. And, she is ultimately dedicated to providing quality care in a time-sensitive environment.

She earned her Bachelor of Science in Zoology from Weber State University in Ogden, Utah, and her Master of Physician Assistant Studies from Idaho State University in Pocatello, Idaho.

Alyssa was raised in Rigby, ID. When she is not practicing medicine, she enjoys spending time with my friends and family outdoors. Her husband and Alyssa enjoy hiking, fishing, and jeeping. She has also been into baking lately as well.
